Financial Institutions Turned to Cypress Software in 2008
to Better Manage Lending and Risk
Year-Over-Year Revenue Grew 18 Percent in 2008;
Financial Institutions Use Cypress Software for Loan Decision Support
NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, Texas – Feb. 17, 2009 – Cypress Software Systems, LP today announced that financial institutions across the United States continued to turn to lending technology in 2008, as illustrated by the company’s year-over-year revenue growth of 18 percent in a recessionary economy. Cypress also experienced employee growth of 31 percent during the year.
Boston-based analyst firm Celent says overall IT spending among North American banks will continue to grow in 2009, up 1.7 percent from 2008. The firm says risk management is expected to be the top trend, as banks embrace IT as a necessity to conserve capital and avoid bad loans. Small and midsize banks also will invest in IT to gain market share.
“During this financial crisis, effective risk management is more important than ever, as illustrated by the continued interest in our loan automation software that drove our company growth,” said Stephen G. Sargent, president and chief executive officer of Cypress Software Systems. “As we move into 2009, financial institutions will be looking for solutions and safeguards as the industry seeks to climb out of this downturn. We’ll be here to help.”
Cypress’ products include Mark IV, a loan software platform that automates the consumer loan application and decisioning process. With Mark IV, service associates electronically input application information while interviewing customers. The software then quickly retrieves credit reports, efficiently reviews sources of repayment, and deploys the institution’s loan policies. The result is a fast, quality loan decision.
Similarly, the company’s BizMark software processes small business loan applications, enabling lenders to efficiently handle small business commercial credit requests for lines of credit, term loans, corporate leases and corporate credit cards. The software gathers principal and financial statement data; retrieves and interprets consumer and business credit reports; performs ratio analysis; and scores the results.
