Founded by lending, credit risk management and software development experts
with over 50 years of combined experience, Cypress Software Systems, LP is a
privately held concern that is majority owned by its employees and is based in
the North Texas Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.

Cypress serves financial services institutions in the United States and Internationally in 17 countries. In the United States , Cypress has licensed users spanning 34 states. Clients range in size from less than $150 million to over $20 billion in assets.
Cypress specializes in offering credit origination products and professional services to automate and control the underwriting of direct and indirect consumer, mortgage and small business credit requests.
Our client base includes multi-national, super regional, regional and community banks, finance companies and credit unions that produce 100 to 20,000+ consumer and small business credit applications per month.

Stephen
G. Sargent
Co-Founder,
President
& CEO
Stephen G. Sargent brings
more than 15 years experience in the financial services
industry to his role as president and CEO of Cypress
Software Systems. His expertise includes lending
and
credit policies, scorecard development and deployment,
compliance and risk management. He is responsible
for
overseeing both the strategic direction and daily
operations
of the company.
Prior to joining Cypress, Steve served as president
and CEO of Tegras Financial Services, a mortgage lending
consulting company. Before that, he was with
AmeriCredit
Corp., one of the nation's largest independent indirect
automobile financiers, where he helped develop the
company's credit policies, forecasted loan loss reserves
and supervised
the rollout of an automated credit application processing
solution. Steve began his career in banking
working
for Bank One and First City Bancorporation.
During his career, Steve has worked with Fair Isaac Corporation,
as well as the credit repositories, to develop credit
scoring models and customize and deploy automated credit
origination software solutions.
Steve holds a Master
of Business Administration,
with a concentration
in Accounting, from
Texas A&M University; and a Bachelor
of Business Administration
from the University
of Texas at Austin,
where he majored
in Finance.
Steven D. Roberts
Vice
President,
Information
Technology
Steven D. Roberts, vice president of information technology,
began his career with Cypress Software Systems in 1999,
when he helped with the layout and design of the company's
core product, Mark IV.
His well-rounded knowledge of credit risk management, application
processing systems, and programming skills serves the
company well as he manages both technical and usability
issues for Cypress .
Steven's career began at AmeriCredit Corp.
in 1994. His responsibilities included supporting
the branch network's use of automated credit application
processing solutions, as well as supervising the
development
of solutions for managing the data and reporting
needs
of the Risk Management department.
Steven received
his Bachelor of
Science in Business Computer Information Systems from the University
of North Texas.
Troy Anderson
Vice
President,
Sales & Corporate
Development
Troy Anderson, vice president of sales and corporate
development, joined Cypress Software in March 2001.
In addition to creating growth through new sales, he
is also responsible for implementing and training new
customers, pursuing and cultivating strategic partnerships
and assisting existing customers with ongoing product
support.
Prior to joining Cypress, Troy served as vice
president of Middle Market Lending at Guaranty Bank
in Dallas, Tx., where he was primarily responsible
for generating new relationships with medium-sized businesses
in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. During his tenure
there,
he closed loans with commitments of more than $50
million
and managed a portfolio of commitments exceeding $75
million.
He began his career with Bank One as a credit
analyst in Ft. Worth, Tx., and was quickly promoted
into the commercial lending department, where he focused
on the Oil & Gas industry. While at Bank
One, he
closed loans with commitments of more than $100 million.
Troy holds a BBA in Finance from Texas Tech
University.
Manuel
Calderón
Vice President, Professional Services
Manuel Calderón
is vice president of professional services at Cypress Software Systems. He brings more than 10 years of business, technology and consulting experience to the position, and is responsible for growing and managing Cypress’ professional services division, including product creation, development and delivery.
Prior to Cypress, Calderón held several positions with Equifax Enabling Technologies that impacted the technology, business and professional services aspects of the company’s consumer and small business loan origination products. As senior consultant, he was responsible for the sales, marketing, development and delivery of Equifax’s professional services offerings.
Before that, Calderón worked with BB&T Bank of Winston-Salem, N.C., where he held a team leader role in the bank’s Information Services, Delivery Systems division. As the lead of the group that supported the loan origination system of the Indirect Lending Group, he was responsible for establishing strategies to maximize the return on investment (ROI) and operational efficiency of BB&T’s loan origination software.
Additionally, during his tenure at BB&T, Calderón was involved in several mergers and acquisitions, where he served as the lead for technology selection, systems configuration, workflow optimization and automation of the Indirect Lending Group loan origination credit policies and procedures.
Calderón also served as technology analyst for First Bank of Puerto Rico, where he supervised and managed the bank’s consumer loan origination system, and helped its lending groups establish strategies to optimize performance of that system. He also was responsible for management and administration of the bank’s networks, servers and databases.
Amy Johnson
Vice President of Product Support
Amy Johnson is vice president of product support for Cypress Software Systems. She brings more than 14 years of product development, technical support, training and management experience to the position. Her responsibilities include supervising customer support and product training for the company's consumer and small business automated loan decisioning software.
Prior to Cypress , Johnson was director of client services and product development for The LoanLink Center, a joint venture of the CUNA Mutual Group and Equifax Enabling Technologies that provides online and call-center lending services. During her tenure, she led an account management team that managed more than 400 client relationships. She also was part of an executive team that lead the company to 25 percent annual growth over a four-year period and a client increase of 75 percent.
Johnson also was program manager for implementations at The LoanLink Center, where she helped develop and implement the company's first Internet offering. She also developed processes that improved LoanLink's implementation procedures and efficiently tracked client progress.
Before CUNA Mutual and Equifax acquired The LoanLink Center, Johnson was manager of PC/LAN support, product manager and network administrator for previous LoanLink Center owner, State National Companies, a provider of technology-based insurance solutions for financial institutions. She managed a team of product support technicians and helped implement a business-to-consumer Web site for the center that provided one-minute loan decisions and processed more than 60 percent of the company's loan applications.
Johnson also was senior sales consultant for NTCS Inc. where she designed, developed and managed network installations for more than 50 clients.
Allan Fried
Senior Vice President of Product Management
Allan Fried is senior vice president of product management at Cypress Software Systems. He brings more than 25 years of financial services and product management leadership experience to the position, and he is responsible for managing Cypress’ product roadmap and software release rollout process in addition to quality assurance.
Prior to Cypress, Fried was assistant vice president of product management at Atlanta-based Equifax Information Services Inc. where he managed the Global Product Management group’s software solutions for the automotive and mortgage industries through conducted market research, sales support and new product innovation.
Before that, he was director of product management at Appro Systems Inc. in Baton Rouge, La. where he helped design the company’s Microsoft .NET-based loan origination software and supervised overall product management before the company was acquired by Equifax.
Fried also co-founded Norcross, Ga.-based Corporate Solutions International and was responsible for the design, implementation and release management for an image-enabled loan origination software system. That company was subsequently acquired by Alltel Information Services Inc. of Little Rock, Ark. in 1999, where Fried served as product strategy manager and was responsible for the strategic vision of the company’s loan origination system, third-party solution partner relationships and change management.
In addition, Fried’s financial services experience included positions held at Georgia Federal Bank in Atlanta and Continental Federal Savings Bank in Fairfax, Va.
Fried received his bachelor’s degree from Rider University in Trenton, N.J., and he is a member of the Mortgage Bankers Association, American Financial Services Association, Consumer Bankers Association and National Automotive Finance Association.
Brian Lee
Vice President of Software Development
Brian Lee is vice president of software development for Cypress Software Systems. His responsibilities include directing day-to-day operations for all Cypress software development efforts, in addition to focusing on strategic goals. Lee brings more than 19 years of project management and software development experience to the position.
Prior to Cypress, Lee was senior developer and software architect for Lockheed Martin in Grand Prairie, Texas, where he led a software design team in the company’s missiles and fire control division.
Lee also was project manager for ABL Consulting of Euless, Texas, where he delivered complex solutions to companies in a diverse group of industries. His clientele included JP Morgan Chase, Wachovia, American Airlines, and 7-Eleven, Union Pacific Resources, Valtech, Digital Architects/Katmai Labs and the Tennessee Valley Authority.
Before that, Lee held several project management and software development positions with EPRI Solutions of Haslet, Texas, and OSG Inc. of Dallas. He also is familiar with multiple software development languages, including ASP .Net, C#, SQL, CSS and JavaScript.
